Dean Landon, writer, producer and owner of The Viber Room Studio in Hollywood, California, is busy working on another major motion picture. Landon was featured in Mackietone News last year for producing and co-writing the song "I'm No Ordinary Girl" for the movie Bounce, staring Ben Affleck and Gwyneth Paltrow. Landon used a Mackie Digital 8•Bus for tracking and mixing the song.

Landon met with producer, manager and good friend Richie Zito to discuss the new project, Wisegirls, a motion picture staring Mariah Carey and Mira Sorvino, due out early this year. Two songs, one written by Anika Paris and the other by Taryn and Chris Landon will be featured in the film. Landon produced both tracks, "Chocolate & Wine," and "Make It Go Away," the latter was co-produced with Naked Lounge Productions. Both songs were recorded and mixed using the Digital 8•Bus. "There isn’t another console on the market that’s in this price range as flexible as the D8B," says Landon.

Landon is very elaborate with his mixes. "When I write and/or produce a song for a feature film, I like to move quickly between mixes without losing the creative flow––making the automation flawless," he says. "I never get any complaints regarding the sound quality of the D8B. I was producing a song for Canadian superstar Roch Voisine, and we couldn't tell the difference between the SSL mix versus the D8B. I think it's pretty clear that the home/project studios have become more and more viable to the industry and companies such as Mackie make it possible for anyone to hit the charts."
