Follow these steps if you are downloading onto a Windows(TM)-based computer:

1) Download the EXE file MDR 1.2 Build 349 Installer.exe (2.5MB).

2) Once downloaded, double-click on the file. This will launch the WinZip(TM)
self-extraction utility.

3) The default "Unzip To" directory is set to C:\Windows\Temp. If you prefer to
have the files extracted to a different location, type the path into the provided
text box and then press the "Unzip" button. Quit the WinZip(TM) self-extraction
utility.

4) Locate the two extracted files, labeled MDR1_2B349D1.exe and MDR1_2B349D2.exe,
in the directory you extracted the files to.

5) Label one double sided, high-density 1.44MB freshly formatted floppy disk as
"Disk 1", and a second as "Disk 2".

6) Double-click on the first file, MDR1_2B349D1.exe, and you'll see a
"WinImage(TM) Self-Extractor" dialog box.

7) Click on the "OK" button in the upper right corner of the dialog box.

8) When the "Batch Assistant" dialog box appears, insert Disk 1 into drive A:\
and then click the "OK" button. If the disk was not blank, you will get an
additional dialog informing you that all data on the disk will be overwritten.
Click "YES".

9) When the WinImage(TM) utility has completed writing to Disk 1, remove Disk 1
and insert Disk 2 and repeat steps 5 through 8 using MDR1_2B349D2.exe instead.
Remove Disk 2 when the operation is complete. Rebooting your PC with the disk in
can create problems with your PC.

10) With the MDR24/96 powered off, insert installation Disk 1 into the MDR24/96
floppy drive, and power the MDR24/96 up.

11) The MDR24/96 will boot into the installer program automatically. Follow the
prompts on the LCD screen.

12) Insert Disk 2 into the floppy drive when prompted, and select "Continue".

13) When the MDR24/96 has completed reading both installer disks, it will ask you
if you want to install MDR 1.2 Build 349. Click "OK" to finish the installation,
or "Cancel" to cancel without writing any files to disk.

14) When the installation is complete, remove Disk 2 from the floppy drive and
power cycle the MDR24/96.


Follow these steps if you are downloading onto a Mac OS(TM) computer:

1) Download the self-extracting file: MDR 1.2 Build 349 Installer.hqx (3.3MB)

2) To expand the HQX file, you'll need Stuffit Expander(TM)
(http://www.aladdinsys.com).  Drag the HQX file onto the Stuffit Expander(TM)
icon. Stuffit Expander(TM) creates a file called MDR 1.2 Build 349 Installer.sea,
and a folder titled MDR 1.2 Build 349 Installer. Drag the SEA file to the trash
can.

3) Launch Apple's Disk Copy utility (you may need to download the Disk Copy
utility from http://www.apple.com. or check the system installations disks that
came with your system).

4) Label one double sided, high density 1.44MB freshly PC formatted floppy disk
as "Disk 1", and a PC formatted second floppy as "Disk 2".

5) Depending on your version of Disk Copy, either click on the "Load Image
File..." button or choose "Make a Floppy" from the Utilities menu.

6) Locate the image folder labeled MDR 1.2 Build 349 Installer that was extracted
onto your hard drive, select the MDR 1.2 Build 349 D1.img file, and click
"Choose".

7) Insert Disk 1 into the floppy drive when prompted. With older versions of Disk
Copy you may need to click on the "Make a copy" button first.

8) Disk Copy will eject the floppy when it has finished making the image. Remove
Disk 1, and repeat steps 5 through 7, using MDR 1.2 Build 349 D2.img to create
Disk 2.

9) With the MDR24/96 powered off, insert installation Disk 1 into the MDR24/96
floppy drive, and power the MDR24/96 up.

10) The MDR24/96 will boot into the installer program automatically. Follow the
prompts on the LCD screen.

11) Insert Disk 2 into the floppy drive when prompted, and select "Continue".

12) When the MDR24/96 has completed reading both installer disks, it will ask you
if you want to install MDR 1.2 Build 349.  Click "OK" to finish the installation,
or "Cancel" to cancel without writing any files to disk.

13) When the installation is complete, remove Disk 2 from the floppy drive and
power cycle the MDR24/96.

**Note to Macintosh USB Floppy drive users:

Apple's Disk Copy program will not work using the above method with a USB floppy
drive because the menu option "Make a Floppy..." will not be available. You must
use Aladdin Systems' ShrinkWrap program available for purchase and trial download
from http://www.aladdinsys.com/shrinkwrap/index.html. Once you have ShrinkWrap
installed substitute these steps for steps 3-8 in the above directions.

3) Launch ShrinkWrap.

4) Label one double sided, high density 1.44MB freshly PC formatted floppy disk
as "Disk 1", and a PC formatted second floppy as "Disk 2".

5) Select "Write Image back to Disk..." from the Image menu (command-B).

6) Locate the image folder labeled MDR 1.2 Build 349 Installer that was extracted
onto your hard drive, select the MDR 1.2 Build 349 D1.img file, and click
"Select".

7) Insert Disk 1 into the floppy drive when prompted.

8) ShrinkWrap will eject the floppy when it has finished making the image. Remove
Disk 1, and repeat steps 5 through 7, using MDR 1.2 Build 349 D2.img to create
Disk 2.
