Built-in meter bridge. Displays the selected channel's input level, including level display for tracking, mixing, effect returns, and sub bussing. But most important, it's built in instead of being a costly extra add-on.

Trim Level (channels 1-24 only). As on our analog consoles, level setting is quick and easy.

Mic/Line Switch.(channels 1-12). Selects between the mic or line input as a channel source. Leave this switch in the up position to use the line inputs.

Record Ready. Lets you remotely arm up to 24 tracks of your digital multi-track or hard disk recorder (on recorders that support MMC) without turning away from the console. Very convenient to use and a big time saving feature!

Assign. Lets you quickly route channels to buses or any of the 24 tape outputs with the punch of a button or a click of the mouse. It's just like a digital patch bay!

Write. Enables and displays the automation state on the channel strip. For those of you who want instant hands-on tweak-ability, the D8B's automation can also be run in Auto-Touch mode. As soon as any recordable control (over 50 per channel) is touched and adjusted, the corresponding channel automatically goes into record mode.

V-Pot.(Virtual Potentiometer). If it weren't for this ingenious multi-function control, each D8B channel strip would need at least TWELVE more rotary knobs! The channel strip V-Pot gives you hands-on control over all channels' panning as well as all auxiliary send, tape output, and digital trim levels. All V-Pots have visual feedback, instant recall and full automation capability.

Bank LED indicator tells you whether the channels are currently Mic/Line, Tape In, or Effect Return channels. The bank LEDs switch along with the selected fader bank.

Select function for channel editing, grouping, sending to tape outputs, linking, group or bus assignment, or clipboard functions. When 'Select' is double-clicked, the on-screen FAT channel window is displayed.

Solo individually monitors channel strip(s). (Post-fader when applicable.)

Mute works just like the mute on an analog console, with any and all fader options.

100mm motorized channel fader. Silky-smooth feel when you move them; jitter-free motion when in motorized mode. The motorized action can be globally defeated from the "Fader Motors Off" button in the master section
