The D8B
is easily configurable for almost any recording application.
We offer analog I/O, digital I/O, word clock I/O and effect
processing cards as add-on options. And it doesn't take a
degree in electrical engineering to add a card. In fact, you
don't even need a screwdriver to install a card in the D8B's
rear panel.

You can
control the transport of your digital multi-track recorders
or supported DAWs and hard disk recorders with the built-in
MMC transport controller. You can also arm up to 24 tape machine
tracks directly from the Record Ready button on each D8B channel
strip. The time code counter window and location point reader
above the transport section reflect the tape position in SMPTE
(hrs:mins:secs:frms) or MIDI (bars:beats:ticks), and let you
mark multiple location points.

Use either
the AIO8 to connect to line level (+4dBu) analog
recorders, the DIO8 card to connect to either
ADAT optical or Tascam T/DIF formats, or the PDI8
AES/EBU card to connect to any digital device that supports
the AES/EBU digital audio format. The PDI8 allows
for real-time sample rate conversion on its inputs. The DIO8's
provide direct dubbing capabilities from ADAT optical
to T/DIF format, and vice versa. The new low-cost OPT8
I/O card provides 8 channels of ADAT light pipe for less
than $100 USD! All cards provide 8 channels in and out.

If you need
to sync your D8B to an external studio clock, Mackie offers
the Clock I/O card, designed by Apogee Electronics, which
provides extremely stable word clock I/O options. It is an extremely
low-jitter, cost-effective clocking card with vari-speed and
pull-up / down capabilities. We think it's the most cost-effective,
best clock source in the industry. |
