NOTE: The Acuma Plugin Kit disks only install
the Acuma Plugins.
See the Mackie Plugin Download Page
for D8B Plugin Requirements.
Refer to Mackie's Main D8B Download Page
for D8B OS instructions.
Follow these steps if you are downloading onto a
Windows™-based computer:
- Download the
.EXE file Plug-in
Service Pack 2 (3.5 MB)
- To expand the ZIP file, you may need WinZip™ (www.winzip.com)
or a similar
program installed on your computer. Once downloaded, double-click
on the file.
This will launch WinZip™.
- Click on the
Extract button. The default "Extract To" directory is
normally
set to to C:\Windows\Temp. If you prefer to have the files extracted
to a different
location, type the path into the provided text box and then
press the "Extract" button.
Once the extraction is completed, quit WinZip™.
- Locate the
three extracted files, labeled PLUG_SP2_1.exe, PLUG_SP2_2.exe,
and PLUG_SP2_3.exe in the directory into which the files were
extracted.
- Label one double
sided, high-density 1.44MB freshly PC formatted floppy disk as
"Disk 1", a second as "Disk 2", and a third
as "Disk 3".
- Double-click
on the first file, PLUG_SP2_1.exe, and you will see a
"WinImage™ Self-Extractor" dialog box.
- Be sure that
both "Writing on Floppy" and "Formatting"
are checked and click
on the "OK" button in the upper right corner of the
dialog box.
- When the "Batch
Assistant" dialog box appears, insert Disk 1 into drive A:\
and
then click the "OK" button. If the disk is not blank,
you will get an additional
dialog informing you that all data on the disk will be overwritten.
Click "YES".
- When the WinImage™
utility has completed writing to Disk 1, remove Disk 1
and insert Disk 2 and repeat steps 5 through 8 using PLUG_SP2_2.exe
instead.
Remove Disk 2 when the operation is complete. When the WinImage™
utility has
completed writing to Disk 2, remove Disk 2 and insert Disk 3
and repeat steps
5 through 8 using PLUG_SP2_3.exe instead. Rebooting your PC
with the disk in
can create problems with your PC.
- With the D8B
powered off, insert installation Disk 1 into the D8B's
floppy drive, and power up the D8B.
- The D8B will
boot into the installer program automatically. Follow the
prompts on the LCD screen.
- Insert Disk
2 into the floppy drive when prompted, and select "Continue".
- Insert Disk
3 into the floppy drive when prompted, and select "Continue".
- When the D8B
has completed reading all three installer disks, it will ask you
if you want to install Plug-in Service Pack 2. Press "OK"
to finish the
installation, or "Cancel" to cancel the installation
without writing any files
to disk.
- When the installation
is complete, remove Disk 3 from the floppy drive and
power cycle the D8B.
Follow these
steps if you are downloading onto a Mac OS™ computer:
- Download the
self-extracting file: Plug-in
Service Pack 2 (4.7 MB)
- To expand
the HQX file, you need Stuffit Expander™ (http://www.aladdinsys.com/)
. If Stuffit Expander does not launch automatically at the completion
of the download, then drag the HQX file onto the Stuffit Expander™
icon. Stuffit Expander™ creates a file called Plugin Service
Pack2.sea, and a folder titled Plugin Service Pack2. Drag the
SEA file to the trash can.
- Launch Apple's
Disk Copy utility (you may need to download the Disk Copy utility
from http://www.apple.com. or check the system installations disks
that came with your system).
- Label one double
sided, high density 1.44MB freshly PC formatted floppy disk as
"Disk 1", a second PC formatted floppy as "Disk
2", and a third PC formatted floppy
as "Disk 3".
- Depending on
your version of Disk Copy, either click on the "Load Image
File..." button or choose "Make a Floppy" from
the Utilities menu.
- Locate the
image folder labeled Plugin Service Pack2 that was extracted
onto your hard drive, select the Plugin SP2_D1.img file, and click
"Choose".
- Insert Disk
1 into the floppy drive when prompted. With older versions of
Disk
Copy you may need to click on the "Make a copy" button
first.
- Disk Copy will
eject the floppy when it has finished making the image. Remove
Disk 1, and repeat steps 5 through 7, using Plugin SP2_D2.img
to create Disk 2.
- Disk Copy will
eject the floppy when it has finished making the image. Remove
Disk 2, and repeat steps 5 through 7, using Plugin SP2_D3.img
to create Disk 3.
- With the D8B
powered off, insert installation Disk 1 into the D8B floppy drive,
and power up the D8B.
Press "OK"
to finish the
installation, or "Cancel" to cancel the installation
without writing any files to disk.
- When the installation
is complete, remove Disk 3 from the floppy drive and
power cycle the D8B.
Note to Macintosh USB Floppy drive users:
Apple's Disk Copy program will not work using the above method with
a USB floppy drive because the menu option "Make a Floppy..." will
not be available. You must use Aladdin Systems' ShrinkWrap program
available for purchase and trial download from Aladdinsys.
Once you have ShrinkWrap installed substitute these steps for steps
3-9 in the above directions.
