MACKIE'S "KING OF THE d.2" CONTEST TRAVELS TO REMIX HOTEL LA
Contest offers Remix Hotel LA attendees a chance to win a $5000 Mackie sound system including a d.2 DJ Mixer with FireWire option.
Woodinville, WA – Ocotber 25, 2005 – After an overwhelming response at the International DJ Expo in New Jersey last summer, Mackie will take round two of its highly successful "King of the d.2" competition to Remix Hotel LA, and crown a west coast "King".
The "King of the d.2" contest offers Remix Hotel LA attendees a chance to win their own Mackie d.2 DJ mixer as well as a complete Mackie sound system—a prize package valued at more than $5,000.
To enter, Remix Hotel attendees must visit the Mackie booth located in the Passage Room at Musician's Institute and sign up to lay down a short DJ set in one of two performance time slots; Friday November 4 at 9 p.m. or Saturday November 5 at 5 p.m.
The Mackie d.2's innovative FireWire option will be used to record each performance. Mackie's resident DJs Tone and Ronnal will then select the top 10 overall performances, which will be posted online at www.mackie.com for final voting. Website visitors will crown the "King of the d.2" from Remix Hotel LA.
As a special added bonus, Mackie is offering the first 15 "King of the d.2" contestants from each day two passes to the official Remix/Mackie d.2 VIP Party. This "invitation only" event will take place in the Spider Club at Avalon LA on Saturday, November 5, from 7-11 p.m.
The DJ Expo "King of the d.2" was DJ Direct (aka TJ Bligen) from Philadelphia who won the complete Mackie DJ system. First runner up was DJ Flip (aka Rick Sajorda) of Bordentown, New Jersey who won a Mackie d.2 DJ mixer.
