What should the digital desk of the future look like? What should it do? What could it do? Here at Mackie, we asked ourselves these
questions and set out to design the dXb Digital Production Console. The result is not only the most powerful and versatile digital console
in its class; its a console that delivers features previously found at more than five times its price.
Whats most obvious about the dXb is its dual touch-screens. These screens are really the heart of the mixer and its main interface.
They display all the things youd expect from a top-of-the-line digital desk, like levels, routing, dynamics processing, surround
panning and effects. But whats not evident until you use the dXb is how well they do so. Its the little things,
like transparent windows, incredibly elegant yet intuitive graphics, and immense flexibility that really sets this console interface
apart.
Everything about the dXbfrom its touchscreen user interface to its 100mm Penny + Giles optical fadershas been designed for
the precise response and intuitive operation more commonly associated with analog buttons and switches, not virtual ones.
So this may be the first digital desk that doesnt require an owners manual to use (we still include one, mind you). Everything
works just as youd expect, with no function that isnt
completely natural and logical as you get to work. And both
the touchscreens and the mouse can be used simultaneously,
so you can use the control that works best for the task at
hand.
Whats so different about the dXb? Plenty. Like selectable 192k operation. Streaming audio via FireWire I/O cards. The ability
to route any input to any output. Dynamics and EQ processing on every channel. Powerful surround mixing. The ability to run select VST
plug-ins internally. A full card cage on the rear panel for massive expandability. Integrated Mackie Control Universal mode for seamless
control of Pro Tools, Logic and many other DAW applications. And thats just scratching the surface. We designed the dXb to not
only meet your needs now, but for years into the future.
