MACKIE FINALIZES TRACKTION DISTRIBUTION AND SHOWS MACKIE CONTROL UNIVERSAL INTEGRATION AT NAMM

January 15, 2004 - Anaheim, NAMM Convention - Mackie today announced the completion of a previously announced agreement with UK-based Raw Material Software in which Mackie will assume worldwide distribution and marketing efforts for Tracktion™ software. Tracktion is a radically new audio/MIDI workstation that is extremely easy to use thanks to a powerful single-screen interface that provides instant access to functions requiring multiple screens in most current workstation software.

"Mackie has always been a company recognized for bringing professional-level performance within reach of the working professional," commented Julian Storer, President of Raw Material Software. "Tracktion fits the Mackie model perfectly- being powerful, easy to use, and extremely affordable. We are very excited to work with the Mackie team and to expand the visibility of Tracktion worldwide."

Mackie also announced plans today to release an update in early 2004 that will allow Tracktion to interface with the popular Mackie Control Universal.

"Tracktion is the easiest-to-use professional recording and MIDI production software we have ever seen," commented Dan Moore, Mackie's Product Development Manager for Tracktion. "By integrating Mackie Control Universal support, we're taking that ease of use one step farther, allowing Tracktion users to benefit from a familiar mixer-like interface available only from a high-quality control surface."

Tracktion is compatible with Windows 98, 2000, ME and XP™ as well as Mac OSX 10.2 and above. The first Mackie product to make use of Tracktion is the recently announced Spike Powered Recording system, a 24-bit, 96k music production system that includes all of the hardware and software necessary to track, mix and record music on a Mac or PC.

"This is just the beginning," commented Moore. "We plan to bundle Tracktion with a number of upcoming Mackie products as well as make it available for purchase from the Mackie web site in February."

Free demo versions of Tracktion are currently available from the Mackie web site at www.mackie.com. A full version will be available for purchase also from the Mackie website in February 2004. Tracktion with Mackie Control Universal support will be available by the end of Q1, 2004.

Tracktion with Mackie Control Universal support will be on display at the NAMM show in Mackie booth number 6690.
