Now Available - Master Fader v1.4 and Master Fader

Here’s what’s new in Master Fader v1.4:

Vintage EQ, Compressor and Gate

Vintage Gate/Comp - Master Fader v1.4

Master Fader v1.4 features an entirely new selection of vintage processing. After extensive analysis, development and testing, the new vintage EQ, compressor and gate deliver the sought-after musical characteristics of your favorite industry-standard processors. The vintage compressor and gate provide a lightning-fast attack, non-linear attack/release and program dependent release making Vintage EQ - Master Fader v1.4them great for drums and other transient sources. The vintage EQ captures the unique interactions between the shelving bands and the gain and frequency-dependent Q structure of the parametric band to deliver the clarity and sheen of classic EQ designs. This EQ is great for getting vocals, guitars and other instruments to sit perfectly in a mix. Now, DL users can choose between clean, surgical modern processing and the new range of classic vintage plug-ins for more flexibility in use.

Updated Show Management

Show Management - Master Fader v1.4

A huge update to the show management and overall snapshot operation makes DL mixers even better for users with complex shows and multiple wireless devices. With DL series mixers the users can snap a photo of the band with their iPad camera or choose from a selection of handy icons and use this as channel ID. With v1.4 these images are now synched between all wireless devices connected to the mixer. The snapshot system will also store and recall these images across devices and the user can add an image to each show to help with identification. Plus, shows now load in the background, keeping all wireless devices online when a show is changed. And, of course, shows will seamlessly transfer between the DL1608 and new DL806.

Master Fader v1.4 is available now as a free download from the App Store (Existing users will be able to update directly on their iPad)

  1. Hi guys
    Great work done on 1.4,
what else is going to be developed with the DL soft wear? it be nice to see spectrum analysis on the unit as and additional pop down.
    Thanks calvin

  2. Great product!…. Would you consider adding 4 subs and a comp/limiter on the l/r main bus in a future app update?

  3. Buen trabajo chicos por esta gran maquina, pero seria agradable que pudiera trabajar 2 DL1608 con un solo IPAD, mis clientes me lo exigen.

  4. These were definitely great upgrades, thank you Mackie!!

My top two wishes for the future of the Mackie DLM’s:

    1. Multi-track recording!!! Please please please please we all need this!! I will buy an entirely new updated DLM mixer at higher cost if that’s what it takes.

    2. More aux outs…at least two more pairs?

Anyway major major thumbs up to Mackie for keeping the app updates coming and designing such a great rock solid product in the first place. Thank you!

  5. PS – I didn’t realize the Auxes couldn’t be paired. Eeeek!!! Seriously Mackie! That definitely tops my wishlist, I agree with “GS” above. Need to be able to send stereo aux mixes to loopers, in-ears, etc. Please please just add a pairing function to the auxes ASAP!

  6. I can’t believe there is STILL NO STEREO aux!?!? it’s 2013!!!
This is such a massive oversight on such an otherwise brilliant product!

  7. Fantastic product and a fantastic app!! And all for under a grand!! (Excluding the price of the iPad.) You can’t beat that!
I concur with the stereo aux request. I would also love to see channel linking for stereo channels.
Multi tracking is a BIG YES too!
One major gripe I have would be getting to the recorded .wav file. There is no way to export the file directly to Dropbox or other audio editing app. Please consider this for future upgrades.
Please also recommend a cable for linking the iPad to the 1608. I cannot dock with the otterbox case and it’s a HUGE time waster to take off the case for every use. Thank you and keep up the good work!

  8. Great, so how long will it be before the 24 and 32 channel version’s come out?
I’ll be the first in line!
    Love my DL1608!

  9. Hi we have just bought a dl806 mixer from a store in leeds. When we set it up we found that we have to dock the ipad so it can play songs or backing tracks. we were a bit disappointed. Is there a way round it many thanks
