NEW MACKIE PRODUCTS IN THE PRESS

Room-with-a-View We just got back from InfoComm 2010, where we launched a whole host of new products. The audience at the show really dug the new gear and, obviously, so do we. But, that is arguably a subjective opinion…so, don’t take it from us. Here’s some of the press our new products have received:

NEW MACKIE HD1221 IS AN ULTRA-COMPACT ADDITION TO POPULAR HD SERIES

HD1221When designing the all-new HD1221, the goal was relatively simple; create the smallest, most kick ass loudspeaker ever. Okay, that’s a pretty tall order, but just get in front of an HD1221…we think we pulled it off.

The HD1221 may be small, but it packs a big 1200W punch and utilizes the same HD processing that makes our HD Series so popular.

    • LF 500W RMS / 1000W peak
    • HF 100W RMS / 200W peak
  • High-definition digital processing includes:
    • Revolutionary patented acoustic correction
    • Transducer time alignment and phase correction
    • Precision 2-way crossover
  • Custom designed transducers by EAW®
    • 12” neodymium woofer with 3” voice coil
    • 1.75” compression driver with heat-treated titanium diaphragm
  • Custom designed user-rotatable 90 x 50 horn by Martin Audio®
  • 60 degree monitor angle for maximum coverage on stage
  • Three user-selectable voicing modes for easy system tuning
  • Ultra-compact and lightweight (51 lb / 23.1 kg)
  • Integrated limiting and protection circuitry
  • Rugged all wood cabinet (15mm birch)
  • 12 integrated fly points for horizontal and vertical rigging
  • Stand / pole mountable

So, its a powerful compact main that can be pole mounted, stacked or flown. It’s a kick ass stage monitor. It will grant you three wishes. Oh…nevermind, got carried away. Check out the full details here and, while your there, take a look at the HD1501 powered subwoofer. It’s like it was made for the HD1221…cause it was.

NEW MACKIE HDA OFFERS AN ARRAY OF POSSIBILITIES

HDA Mackie has always brought awesome, high-end technology into affordable designs. So, since we consider EAW a “friend with benefits”, we took advantage of their award-winning and often awe-inspiring engineering team to design the most cost-effective constant curvature line array ever created – the Mackie HDA

HDA stands for High-Definition Array. It’s part of the HD Series and it’s an array, so there you have it. But, that’s just the name. The 12-inch 2-way HDA is scalable and highly configurable, making it great  for high-end portable PA to a massive flown rig perfect for mid-sized venues.

There’s a lot to talk about with HDA. A tremendous amount of application possibilities, tons of rigging options…so you should really check out the full details. Here’s the feature list to whet your appetite:

  • 110° x 20° constant curvature line array
    • Scalable and arrayable with a multitude of configuration options
    • Maximum flown system supports up to 4 x HDA and 2 x HD1801 subwoofers
    • Ground stack up to 3 x HDA on HD1801 subwoofer or flybar
  • Pole mount up to 2 x HDA on HD1801 subwoofer or tripod using dual angle pole cups
  • 1200W of ultra-efficient Class-D Fast Recovery amplification
    • LF 500W RMS / 1000W peak
    • HF 100W RMS / 200W peak
  • EAW designed acoustics with custom specified transducers
    • 12” neodymium woofer with 3” voice coil
    • Dual Beyma® 1.7” compression drivers with heat-treated titanium diaphragms
  • High-definition audio processing includes:
    • Revolutionary patented acoustic correction
    • Transducer time alignment and phase correction
    • Precision 2-way crossover
  • Three-position voicing switch for simple array voicing
  • Integrated limiting and protection circuitry

So, as you can see, there is a lot going on with HDA. We are planning to release a series of White Papers over the coming months that talk about the benefits of array technology and how HDA is the solution to many live sound application issues. HDA is scheduled for release later this year.
