I am part of a Youth Jazz orginization that is keeping Jazz alive, I spent my own money to setup a recording studio to save the music. The kids are from All over the Kansas City Area, the best youth jazz band in the country. My Mackie Onyx 1640 is the perfect mixer along with the firewire card for recording the jazz big band. 16 channels to the hard drive for post mixing and mastering. It is the perfect solution for the money. The Onyx preamps sound great and the firewire card does a great job of conversion to digital. We are recording the history and saving the legacy one song at a time.
In the picture I am in the backround with my Mackie mixer, In the foreground is Myra Taylor a jazz great 96 years young, she is truely a jazz legend, and Mr Leon Brady 76 years old conducting the youth band, Mr Brady was the drummer for Ray Charles.
