As soon as Mackie products hit the market almost twenty years ago, I had heard nothing but great things. I grew up near the Mackie headquarters in Woodinville, Wa. All the eastside bands we're raving about the gear and I had to get my own! I bought my first Mackie mixer, a CR1604 in 1992. I quickly added the XLR10 expander and OTTO 1604. I was on cloud nine! Phenomenal gear for the studio and stage...and I could afford it! A couple years later I purchased the 24/8 board with meterbridge a MDR with remote and pair of HR824's---Mind blowing quality and user friendly plug and play. Finally in 2004, when my band Talus was recording in one of the Seattle areas top-end studios, I was introduced to the Onyx mic pre's. They had picked up an Onyx 800R and we're A/B ing it during our session against their vintage SSL board. (email me and I'll tell you the studio). It rivalled the SSL!! Amazing! I immediately went out purchased an Onyx 1640 with firewire card and an Onyx 800R. I got the gear home loaded Tracktion onto my laptop and was recording in nothin' flat. No glitches, no hassles, no problems. I still own every piece of Mackie equipment I've bought and it all still works flawlessly. What else can I say? I'm a hooked Mackoid. Your gear is the best!
