I bought my "Awesome" Mackie Speaker package in 2005 from 123DJ.com. I was just another DJ until then. Since legitiMackin, I rock three parties a week, all year round.
Although I did have a major scare back in May of 2007. After turning a restaurant into a slammin night club for a night, I loaded all my equipment, including 2 Mackie SR-1530's, 2 Mackie SRM-450's and a Mackie SR-1500 subwoofer into my 2002 Avalanche around 2:00am. I figured I should take a quick leak before driving home. I went in for two minutes, said good night to the staff, and headed for my truck.
2:03am … $16,000.00 uninsured truck, $8,000.00 worth of equipment gone. All I could think about were my uninsured Mackie’s. I immediately called 911. 20 minutes later, police were in a high speed chase with the drunken jackass in my truck. He drives through a telephone pole with the front end, and takes another telephone pole down with the back driver’s side door. Then rolled it a couple of times onto a wall. Smashed my subwoofer, mixer and cd players gone on impact. Everything else went flying during the tumble. Driver’s seat untouched of course???
Massive dents and chunks of plastic missing … the four Mackie speakers left from my $8,000.00 investment, still rock today. I lost my truck, subwoofer, mixer and cd players, but I still have the dented heart and soul of my system. That’s why I love my Mackie’s.
