I bought a CR1604 at a pawn shop in Spokane many years ago. Cost $400. Low and behold, it was stolen in Seattle by a thief from Spokane, and was evidence in a murder. So a detective came to me and took my beloved mixer from me, no promises of a return. After holding it for almost a year for the trial, the insurance company settled with the family and the detective was kind enough to give it back to me. It continues to reside in my studio rack, where it continues to go about its business flawlessly (I had to replace some of the sliders). And yes it did a lot of live rock work for me in its life, not to mention plenty of recording work. I should probably replace it, but it still works perfectly.
