Playing live for an improv comedy show at the Purple Onion in San Francisco. Gig of a life time. Using the Microseries 1202 running keyboard, amp and drum machine. Without the music hitting at the right moment the show fails. The audiences have been packing the little night club. What a treat!
A torrential rain sweeps down the Little Italy streets during the week, and when I come into the club, there's a stream of water steadily dripping onto the mixer. My heart sank. We perform in a few hours, and sound was definitely not going to be coming out of the drenched mixer.
I turned it upside down and water dribbled out of it.
Panic.
I opened it up, dried it out the best I could, and closed it up. Crossed my fingers.
I plugged everything back in, turned on the amp. An hour to show time...
It worked! Oh praise the Mackie goddess of poor musicians and performers! The show went on, and the brave little Mackie mixer saved the day, again.
Yay team!
